Pioneering innovation and driving it forward

2000
In the years 80-90, companies were mainly driven by quality assurance and management. In the late 90's, quality has become an olympic minimum and was no longer a differentiator. In 2000, Simon Dewulf, together with a group of ambitious individuals realized that innovation was going to be next big thing. Driven by this emerging trend they founded a small consultancy agency in the picturesque town of Ypres, Belgium.

They were equipped with diverse academic backgrounds ranging from engineering to biochemistry and petrochemistry they were die-hard believers in the necessity of innovation and cross-industry research. This vision led them to name the company "CREAX," an acronym of 'creativity in action’. Their goal was to accelerate innovation in all industries by combining science and technology with creativity and imagination.

In its initial phase, Creax focused primarily on generating ideas, often radical and forward-thinking concepts, applying the TRIZ (link) method as a bedrock for its unique ideation process.
2010
Their pioneered set of innovation tools became widely spread and soon enough, companies from Belgium and beyond were knocking on Creax's door for advice. The service offerings remained pretty stable for years, but as the years passed it dawned on the team that often they were solving the wrong problem, which made even the most brilliant solutions less significant and valuable. So, around 2010, the company decided, under the renewed leadership of Jef Vandenberghe and Mathieu Mottrie, it was time to shake things up and expand its services. From that point on, Problem definition (or 'RIP the briefing' in design thinking jargon) became a crucial part of their innovation process. Ensuring the right problem is identified before starting the ideation process.

During this transformative period, Creax also underwent a geographical shift, relocating to the city of Kortrijk, where it continues to operate today.
2023
As the years passed, the Creax team became a melting pot of diverse talents and backgrounds. Ranging from all sorts of engineers, (bio)chemists and designers – the team grew into a 20-member-strong force with a wealth of expertise, all united by ashared vision and goal.

This dream team had evolved beyond being a mere start-up. They transformed into a powerhouse, adept at tackling any challenge for any client with their unique skill sets and expertise. The result? A track record of client satisfaction and a reputation for delivering results that didn't just meet but often exceeded expectations.

Moreover, Creax has become a loyal partner in setting out innovation strategies and making them concrete through tangible and practical innovation roadmaps. They believe in less talking and more action, ensuring that every strategy is implemented effectively, driving real-world results for their clients.
